This is not a diet, nor a new nutrition fashion, it’s a pattern of eating.
Intermittent fasting is a way of organizing when you are going to have your meals and then get the most out of them. And the benefits are amazing, but just when you do properly.
You should fast for 16 hours (if you are a man) or 12-14 hours (if you are a woman), but you can drink water, tea and coffee during the fasting. And you can do it at least twice a week (better every day) to get all the benefits, such as:
Clean and detox your body (and mind).
Help live longer.
Help lose weight.
Decrease body fat.
Rest the digestive system.
May reduce the risk of cancer.
If you are a beginner on fasting, I highly recommend to read this post here . It shows how to do it (detail by detail) and has a great FAQ. Also, I would recommend these 2 articles here and here is great too!
And why is beneficial for just eat for certain period of the day?
Well, when you have a time to eat and a time to not eat, during the time you are not eating, you are giving your body a rest.
After all, digest foods takes a lot of energy of our system. And we were not meant to eat all the time.
For me, intermittent fasting is easy, because I don’t feel hungry in the morning and I also like to meditate and workout after I get up, which helps me to have a more clarified mind.
And remember, fasting is not recommended if you are pregnant, nursing, underweight, diabetic or struggling with eating disorders.
IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR WOMEN:
When it comes to intermittent fasting there are more studies about how it works for men. But when it comes to women is different.
Some studies have shown that some women could have issues with the hormones. So ladies, go slow! Also, I recommend this article here to learn more about intermittent fasting for women.

If you still think it is hard to start on intermittent fasting, go even more simple: Have your last meal of the day earlier than usual.
