Healthy “Nutella”

Known worldwide, Nutella is delicious, I know! But the thing is, it is not that healthy at all!

This world's best known hazelnut cream contains 70% saturated fat and processed sugar by weight. Two tablespoons of Nutella contain 21 grams of sugar, the equivalent of 5 teaspoons of sugar.

Just to have any idea, according to the American Heart Association (AHA), the maximum amount of added sugars you should eat in a day is 37.5 grams or 9 teaspoons for men and 25 grams or 6 teaspoons for women. Can you see the problem?

Also, Nutella is made with vegetables oils, which are refined oils. Besides promoting inflammation in the body, vegetables oils can damage your heart, brain, liver and endocrine and nervous systems. No good!

But you can still delight yourself by making a healthy version, using good, fresh and organic ingredients and changing sugar to coconut sugar, maple syrup or raw honey and vegetable oils to olive oil or coconut oil.

It is super easy to make and also you can leave out of the fridge for 3 to 4 days. Take a look!

Ingredients (1 full Mason 16 oz jar):

Instructions:

Pre-heat the oven to 350 F.

Place the hazelnuts on a tray and take to the oven for 15 minutes.

Remove the hazelnuts from the oven and with a tablecloth or a piece of paper towel, rub them to get rid of the skin.

Pour the hazelnuts in a blender along with other ingredients. Blend them well!

Try it to check if you need to add more coconut sugar, maple syrup or raw honey. Done!
