We, Brazilian women, love to take care of our skin and hair. And homemade recipes for skin and hair masks are really commom and are shared from generation to generations.
Here I share some of my favorite recipes, which you can make on your own, even not living in Brazil. :p
Papaya contains vitamin A, an essential vitamin for skin health and since honey is a natural humectant, that is, it helps to retain water to keep skin soft.
Papaya Skin Mask
To nourish the skin, mash the papaya pulp and add a tablespoon of honey. Apply the mask all over the face and let it act for 10 minutes. Then wash with cold water.
Papaya Hair Mask
Mix 1/2 cup of mashed papaya pulp with ¼ cup of plain yogurt and mix well. Comb the hair, moisten it and apply the mixture throughout. Cover with a shower cap and leave on for 10 minutes. Then wash your hair.
Avocado is an incredible food and full of health benefits. Rich in vitamins, proteins, copper, fiber and monounsaturated fats (the "good" fats), its consumption can reduce cholesterol, improve eye health and help digestion. And of course, on it can also be an incredible ally of your beauty.
This is because it is rich antioxidant substances such as vitamins A and E which are great for skin rejuvenation, as they fight against free radicals and help prevent wrinkles, also wonderful for the hair.
Avocado Skin Mask
In a bowl, add the avocado half pulp with a cup of plain yogurt and mix well until it forms a paste. Apply on face thoroughly, leave on for 20 minutes and rinse well under running water.
Avocado Hair Mask
Mash an avocado with water to form a dough. Apply to damp hair and comb to spread the mixture. Let it act for about 15 minutes and rinse well with cold water.
It is rich in antioxidants, which help renew skin cells and give a unique natural shine.

Strawberry Skin Mask
In a blender mix 1 cup of strawberries, another cup of plain yogurt, 1/2 cup of honey and a some water water. The consistency will look like a smoothie. Apply to the face twice a week and leave it for 12 minutes and then, rinse it off.
