Low energy? Lack of vitality? Tired all the time? You might need to increase your vitamin D intake.
You probably heard how vitamin D (which is actually a hormone) is important for your health. 🌞
It helps to reduce inflammation in your body, one of the main causes of most of diseases. Also optimal vitamin D levels can help improve your mood (hello vitality!⚡️), boost your overall brain function (making you more productive⚡️), and generally improve your well-being (you feel more energized⚡️). Vitamin D may be involved in the healthy regulation of as many as 900 human genes, wow!!
The best way to balance your levels of vitamin D is the sunlight. ☀️But, if you are no able to be outdoors for any reason, there are other ways. Here are some tips to help you fight low mood and lack of vitality and even, sexual desire!
Daily exposure to appropriate levels of direct sunlight can boost vitamin D3 levels. Minimum of 10 minutes and maximum of 40 minutes without sunscreen and during the proper hours (before noon and after 3 pm). I like to use the app Dminder to help me figure it out how much vitamin D my body is absorbing.
Foods can be an important source of vitamin D. Here it go some of them: eggs, milk, fish (especially wild salmon, tuna, and mackerel) and mushrooms.
🌞Take Vitamin D3 Supplement
If you can't be outdoors or you are in winter time, you need to supplement. Don't worry about taking high levels of it. Just to have an idea, I take 10k IU per day during winter time. To make sure your level, ask to a functional doctor or a nutritionist and ask for a test too.
And remember, you need a good source of fat to help absorb the vitamin D, like Omega-3.
